Student Life

At Westwood International School, we provide a holistic education to our students. Students engage with real-world issues and a wide range of opportunities to develop knowledge, skills, understanding, and attitudes toward the wider community.

Learning opportunities are extended into our extra-curriculum programme to allow students to be inspired and follow their passion.  Our firm commitment to sustainability is highlighted in our Eco-School status and students commit to age-appropriate service projects throughout their education.

Each term, we offer a wide variety of sports, creative, and skills-building activities to extend the school experience for our students.

Our students compete in the ISSSA and ISAB sports competitions and participate in art exchanges with other schools.

We believe that extracurricular activities complement and enhance the curriculum. It gives students additional opportunities to be inspired and empowered in their abilities.

Environmentalism and sustainability are integral to our school, both inside and outside of the curriculum.

Westwood International School is fully powered by solar energy and we use water from our own borehole. We have a comprehensive recycling programme and make our own compost.

In 2023, we became the first and only school in Botswana to receive the prestigious Green Flag award by the Eco-Schools Foundation.

Our school has established long-term service partnerships with organisations around Botswana.

Among others, our students support the Mokolodi Nature Reserve just outside Gaborone and the Dukwi Refugee Center near the Zimbabwean border.
