Established in 1988, Westwood is the school of choice for internationally-minded families. Our purpose-built facilities are maintained under the sustainable "Green Flag" awarded by the Eco-Schools Foundation.
We are the only continuum school in Gaborone, offering the International Baccalaureate PYP, MYP, and DP for students from 5 to 18 years old. The continuous scaffolding of knowledge, skills, and attitudes provides students with the best possible preparation to be successful in higher education and life beyond.
Westwood is a not-for-profit school and all revenues are used to improve the school to benefit the students. We are an independent school governed by a board of founders, parents, diplomats, and other stakeholders.

The IB journey is one that teaches students much more than just the subjects that they study. In a safe and nurturing environment, our students learn about themselves, how to manage time, how to juggle competing priorities, how to face challenges head on, how to collaborate with others, and how to persevere to find success.
WIS provides a balanced programme with a focus on the arts, sports, service, and creating and supporting a sustainable future.
We have a wide variety of sports teams, an extensive extra-curricular programme, as well as sports victories, musical and theatre productions, and an outstanding IB DP Art Exhibition each year!
