School Uniform

We want our students to wear their uniform with pride. Our uniform indicates that we belong to the WIS community. Our uniform policy reflects the school’s ethos of high standards and promotes good behaviour, reinforcing our school’s culture of high expectations and academic achievement.

All students are expected to dress according to the uniform policy; smartness and high standards of appearance are expected at all times. We have a required school uniform for several reasons:
  • Uniforms unite the school. Students make a commitment that when they put on their WIS uniform they will abide by the rules of the community.
  • Uniforms reduce distractions. When pupils are allowed to wear their home clothing, there is the potential to talk about or focus on fashions and styles rather than learning.

We ask parents and guardians to support all decisions by school staff regarding whether or not clothing is appropriate or inappropriate for school. The school expects all parents who accept a place at WIS to comply with the school uniform standards.
